Architecture & landscaping
It all started 22 years ago in Saint Tropez, during the Côté Sud trade fair. This French client, who lives with her family in London, came to see us to have some work done (the fitting-out of her kitchen and then of a studio flat) inside their villa situated in Bandol.
She later contacted us for a global project to renovate the rest of the house, as well as the exterior spaces.
We transformed the entrance hall, car park, wood terraces, built new stone stairs, access paths and dry-stone walls. Designed a new garden and changed the shape of the existing swimming-pool to give it the aspect of a natural pool with new wooden decks set among luxuriant and aromatic plants. We also created living terraces with a shadesail, which can be removed when cicadas sing their serenade.
Moreover, lighting enabled us to enhance this Zen, natural, peaceful place.
At night, the play of darkness and light as well as the contrast of materials add more magic to the spot… when trees and bushes sway in the wind and the crystal clear water of the pool illuminates the terraces; then… lying on your deckchair and looking at the stars, you can tell yourself it is very pleasant to live in the south.
A little time later we left for London to visit our clients, who live in the French quarter, to design their kitchen, which they wanted to be very contemporary.
Another very beautiful creation and a new successful challenge beneath less clement skies, but with great charm.
